Why does Gemini Advanced feel like a letdown compared to ChatGPT 4?

I recently bought Gemini Advanced, and honestly, it feels like a step back to ChatGPT 3.5. How is it that a company as big as Google can’t even match the competition? Has anyone else tried it? I’ve been using it mainly for cleaning up emails and brainstorming ideas, but it’s not meeting my expectations.

What made you buy it? I’m sticking with the free version of ChatGPT for now. But I’ve been hearing about Sora… does anyone know if it’s worth upgrading?

Honestly, it was an impulse buy. Looking back, I should’ve just gone for the paid version of ChatGPT. Didn’t know about Sora being part of GPT Plus—that’s interesting.

@Denny
Yeah, it seems like they’re keeping the really good stuff in paid plans. Makes sense, I guess.

@Denny
Unless you’re getting it for Gemini Live (their voice feature), you should try their experimental model Gemini 1206. It’s way better than what you’re describing, but it’s text-only for now.

I’ve been using the free ChatGPT. Is Perplexity Pro or Sora worth paying for?

@Mack
Depends on what you’re after. Perplexity Pro is great for research and pulling sources, while ChatGPT feels more like having a conversation.

It’s amazing how often Gemini fails at basic tasks. I’ve also got Gemini Premium, and it’s just not usable.

Completely agree. It’s frustrating how bad it is.

Have you tried Claude? It’s fantastic for creative writing. Definitely worth looking into.

Sonnet is even better for that! Especially after the last update—it’s been a game-changer for me.

Gemini 1.5 Pro isn’t bad. You can access it at aistudio.google.com.

Google has better models than Gemini Advanced, but they seem to reserve them for corporate customers or API access. Individual users mostly get the integration features with Gmail, Docs, and other Google apps.

No way, Green Lantern is way cooler than Batman or Superman.

It’s a disaster.

Google should’ve just scrapped it. Feels like they rushed this out.

Does the free version work better than Advanced?

Wait, are you saying the free one is better? That’s wild.

I’ve been testing Gemini 1206, and it’s pretty good—and free! Honestly, I wouldn’t pay for any of these right now. Have you checked out Google’s IDX? That’s free too and surprisingly good.
