What’s the most surprising, creative, or unconventional way ChatGPT has assisted you?
I’m a medical student, and in our exams, we have to do role-playing exercises called OSCEs, where we act as doctors treating patients. It’s challenging to practice for these unless you have templates for the marking criteria, and finding specific ones for different types of stations can be tough.
I’ve asked ChatGPT to generate OSCE stations for a final-year Australian medical student, covering common conditions in X, Y, Z disciplines. It provides prompts for the student, actor, and assessor, along with questions to ask the student at the end.
I’m confident in my study content enough to spot when ChatGPT goes off track, but it’s been incredibly helpful.
I’m at a stage in my career where there aren’t many mentors available, and I’m working on a new project that will shift my career path. ChatGPT has become my career advisor and confidant as I navigate these changes and tackle new responsibilities. It’s been incredibly helpful.
I had a list of compatible SD cards for a drone but didn’t have time to compare them all. I simply pasted the list into ChatGPT and asked it to compare the value for money, focusing on write speed. It got the job done in no time.
I needed to provide a solid counter-argument to my structural engineer about how he overly complicated the design for my house. While I’m all for being slightly conservative with structural elements, the design was unnecessary and would cost me 50% more—totally not acceptable. My structural engineer appreciated my response and immediately scaled everything down to a more reasonable level without any pushback.
I just uploaded the structural foundation plan, provided a semi-detailed description of the house, and asked ChatGPT to evaluate it. After confirming the evaluation was accurate, I requested it to draft an email for me. I then copied and pasted that message to my engineer.
As a gymnastics fan who loves watching old meets but dislikes the downtime, I use ChatGPT to get timestamps with links to specific routines in YouTube videos. This way, I get a link for each routine’s timestamp with a description, allowing me to watch all the routines I want in just a few minutes instead of sitting through hours of footage.
