I’m currently in graduate school, and my summer classes involve a lot of writing. Many people have recommended using ChatGPT to help with my coursework. Although writing has always been a personal strength of mine, the idea of polishing and fact-checking AI-generated content and then submitting it as my own makes me uncomfortable. Is it really common for people to use AI for their essays? Isn’t this still considered plagiarism?

Graduate school is about developing your own critical thinking and research skills. Relying on AI for writing would hinder that growth process.
