Thanks for the tip! I had to sign up for Xfinity rewards (it’s free) before the offers showed up for me.

Appreciate it! I went into my rewards account and signed up. For anyone following my comment, remember, you need to use the links through Xfinity for the promo code to work. Don’t just use the app.

What do you all use Perplexity for? How does it compare to ChatGPT or Gemini?

I’ve just started using it today, only spent about 2 hours on it. It’s pretty flexible — you can choose from different LLMs and image generation models. One downside is that it only lets you upload PDFs or text files, not Python files, which I was really hoping to use it for. But overall, it’s a solid tool.

@Ben
Awesome! Too bad about the Python files, but thanks for the helpful info!

@Ben
It lets me upload .cs files and works fine with them (using the Claude 3.5 Sonnet model). Thanks for the promo info, I might test it more later compared to regular Claude.ai that I use.

@Ben

Doesn’t allow me to upload Python files

You could try repo2txt. It’s a simple tool, and I’ve found it’s the best for uploading files, even if a service doesn’t let you directly upload them. You can copy-paste the contents into the text box.

@Linden
Wow, this is perfect! Of course, there’s a tool for that. Thanks a lot! :slight_smile:

Just got it today with the promo. It’s nice, though I wish they allowed me to print out the curated page as a neat PDF.

Thanks for sharing this! I had to create a new account since I didn’t want to wait for my mobile membership through Apple to expire. Still, can’t complain about getting a year for free.

Too bad this promo isn’t available in Canada.
