Does Using ChatGPT Count as Plagiarism?

Hello…

I’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT lately to help me generate content for some projects, and it’s been super helpful! But now I’m starting to wonder about something that I haven’t seen much discussion on: Does using ChatGPT-generated content count as plagiarism?

Using ChatGPT-generated content isn’t plagiarism since it’s original text, but always ensure the content is properly cited if it includes specific information or ideas. It’s best to review and personalize the output.

It gathers information from its own database. Plagiarism is what it is; the difference is that it’s broader than most people realize. One can commit self-plagiarism.

ChatGPT doesn’t copy information directly, but it can generate text that closely resembles existing content without giving credit. This raises concerns about plagiarism, even though ChatGPT itself isn’t intentionally copying.

@MissNicklaus What you really need to be worried about is policies on"AI-assisted writing" If it’s against the policy, your content may get flagged.
