Can Blackboard Detect If I Use ChatGPT for Assignments?

Folks, I’m working on some assignments for my online courses and have been considering using ChatGPT to help with brainstorming and drafting. However, I’m concerned about whether Blackboard or any other online learning platforms have the capability to detect if AI tools like ChatGPT are being used.

Has anyone here had experience with this or know if Blackboard can identify content generated by AI? Are there any specific features or methods used by these platforms to detect AI assistance?

Blackboard itself cannot directly detect if you use ChatGPT for assignments. However, it uses SafeAssign to check for plagiarism. SafeAssign compares submissions against a database of internet sources, previous submissions, and academic papers to find similarities and potential plagiarism.

I’m not entirely certain if Blackboard has the capability to detect AI, but to err on the side of caution, it might be a good idea to run your work through a stealth writer powered by undetectable AI. This way, you can avoid any potential flags for AI detection.

If your only intention is to cheat your way through the courses, why are you paying for them?
