Anyone here tried moving from regular dev work to AI… is it worth it?

Hi everyone, 2024 has been a tough year for me and my friend. I was working as a freelance web developer for over 10 years, but now that market is barely alive, and getting new clients is almost impossible.

My friend has solid programming skills in Python and is quite smart with a good technical background. We’re both looking to move into the Artificial Intelligence field. We’ve done a course on Machine Learning that covered the basics, advanced algorithms, unsupervised learning, recommender systems, and reinforcement learning.

We’re planning to take a course on Agentic AI, focusing on frameworks like Phidata, Langchain, HuggingFace, etc. Does this sound like a good idea? Will this help us find opportunities in AI? Also, can anyone suggest which AI fields are trending and worth focusing on for the future?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Looking for advice on moving into AI from web development, what’s trending, and how to focus my learning.

That’s a great idea! AI is moving so fast, so it’ll be interesting to see what advice you get. Keep us updated on your progress!

I’ll follow this and see how it works out for you.

It might help if you share why Agentic AI caught your interest. Are you into creating autonomous systems, working with large language models, or applying AI in specific industries? A bit more detail could help people give you better advice.

Funny how we’re talking about moving into AI while getting advice from a forum where AI probably wrote some replies!

I’ll keep an eye on this for updates!

Hope it works out for you. Best of luck!
