It’s surprising that people are still discovering the memories feature, even though it’s been around for quite a while.
I think it’s because the memory updates much more frequently now than it used to.
Go to Settings → Personalization → Manage memories.
The system doesn’t rely on previous chats or their deletion status. Instead, it builds and stores a list of details about you separately.
If it had to re-read all your conversations each time, it would be inefficient.
Remember, it’s still just a language model. Don’t take its “I’ll make sure…” statements too literally.
It’s interesting that Chat knew the date of the injury. Despite our discussions about chronology, Chat claimed it only understands the sequence of events, not the specific dates.
Nothing is ever truly deleted, and you’re not the only one with access to all your prompts.
