As AI gets smarter... will people start having public chats with AI? Will we be okay with it in cafes and on the streets?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how AI could change the way we interact with technology in our daily lives. AI is getting better at holding conversations, helping us out with work, giving advice, and even having interesting chats. But here’s my question: Do you think people will feel comfortable talking to AI in public places like cafes, streets, or on buses? Or do you think they’ll still prefer to keep it private, like in their homes?

We’ve seen people get used to new tech behaviors before. Remember when everyone first started talking on Bluetooth headsets? It was weird at first, but now it’s pretty common. But I feel like AI conversations could be different – they might be longer and more personal, almost like a one-on-one chat with someone. Do you think people will hold back on these conversations until they’re home, or will they just get used to chatting with AI in public?

What do you think? Will talking to AI in public become normal like wearing AirPods, or will people keep it private? How do you see this evolving as AI becomes a bigger part of everyday life?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

You’ve never seen people talking on the phone in public? What’s the difference for someone watching?

Nice thought! I think people will get used to it. It’ll probably sound like someone talking to themselves, or like they’re on Bluetooth. Shouldn’t be too weird after a while.

I feel like it’d still be seen as rude, like talking loudly on the phone or blasting music in public.
