Advanced voice is incredible!

I just sat with my cousin and had the voice mode create a dynamic story as we described what was happening. We enjoyed an interactive storytelling session for about an hour. It would change voices based on whether a character was nervous, angry, or crying, and it even delivered monologues reflecting what the character was experiencing in the story. It was so much fun! I wish we had more than 45 minutes to an hour per day, but that was the most enjoyable experience I’ve ever had with AI.

I spent 20-30 minutes with it learning Tagalog. It provided me with useful phrases, listened to my pronunciation word by word, corrected me as best as it could, and explained the meaning of each word along with the grammatical structure of the phrases. We even had a fun side tangent about Jeepneys.

After that, I switched to text and had it generate a summary, which I then used to create a .csv file for an Anki flashcard app.

Truly living in the future!

It might be great for language learning, and the idea of generating CSV files is REALLY useful, but it’s not very effective at correcting pronunciation.

I just tried it with several languages, purposely butchering the pronunciation, and it would respond with things like, “Amazing! You’re already a pro!” every time.

It’s awesome! I had the voice that sounds like a British nanny attempt an Australian accent and then switch to talking like a pirate on top of that. It was impressive to see it layer all three elements and deliver so well.

I’m beyond excited to have AI as my personalized guitar tutor without the need to pay $30-60 a week! How long until my computer screen becomes a video chat with a real AI model that can actually play guitar alongside me and instantly transcribe any song into tabs on the spot? This way, I could learn any song in the world. Am I being too optimistic? Is this really how cool the future is? I can also learn Spanish in my room and have it correct my pronunciation—how crazy is that?
